The incident happened on June 30 at a home in Citrus Heights, according to local authorities.
Recently released security footage shows two girls standing outside the home’s ground-floor windows. In the video, one of the girls appears to hold an unidentified object that briefly sparks before she seemingly throws it through an open window. Moments later, both girls are seen running away from the property.
According to relatives of the homeowners, the object was a firecracker that landed inside the baby’s nursery, igniting a fire.
Police have not publicly confirmed the exact object seen in the footage, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Fire Destroyed Nearly Everything Prepared for the Baby

The update thanked supporters who donated and helped the family rebuild after the frightening incident, allowing the parents to bring their baby home to a safe and welcoming space.
