Florida Man Accused of Deliberately Ramming SUV Into Wife's Vehicle With Four Children Inside After Domestic Dispute

Miramar, Florida — A South Florida man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he intentionally crashed his SUV into his wife’s vehicle while she and four children were inside, following a domestic dispute that began at the family’s home.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO), the incident unfolded Monday and involved several law enforcement agencies before the suspect was taken into custody.

Investigators identified the suspect as 29-year-old Romario Martin, who remains jailed as the criminal case moves forward.

Domestic Argument Reportedly Escalated Before Family Left Home

Deputies said they initially responded to a residence near the 6100 block of Southwest 18th Street in Miramar.

According to the arrest report, the victim told investigators she and Martin had been married for two years and share one infant child. Three other children, who are not related to both adults, were also inside the home during the incident.

The woman told deputies the argument began after she called Martin to ask where he was after he had left the house because their infant son had allegedly spilled water throughout the residence.

Investigators said Martin later returned home, where another argument took place. The victim then decided to leave the residence with her infant and the three other children.

Deputies Say SUV Intentionally Struck Vehicle

According to investigators, the woman was driving westbound near the 4000 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard approaching U.S. 441 when she noticed Martin’s 2019 Land Rover Velar following closely behind.

The arrest report alleges Martin then intentionally accelerated toward her vehicle.

According to deputies:

“The victim then advised the defendant intentionally accelerated toward her vehicle and struck the rear passenger side bumper one time with his vehicle while the victim and the 4 minor children were occupants of the vehicle.”

Authorities said both vehicles left the scene after the collision.

Suspect Located by Police

Investigators later located Martin with assistance from the Hollywood Police Department near Southwest 63rd Avenue and Pembroke Road, where officers detained him.

According to deputies, Martin made a statement to investigators after his arrest. However, the contents of that statement were redacted from the publicly released arrest report.

Officials have not released additional information regarding what Martin allegedly told investigators.

Multiple Felony Charges Filed

According to jail records, Martin now faces an extensive list of criminal charges.

Authorities charged him with:

  • 10 counts of aggravated domestic battery with a deadly weapon
  • Four counts of child abuse without great bodily harm
  • Four additional domestic battery charges

As of Thursday morning, Martin remained at the Broward Main Jail without bond. Jail records also show that an immigration hold has been placed on him.

The allegations against Martin have not been proven in court, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty through the legal process.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue reviewing evidence surrounding the alleged domestic violence incident.
