Love Chipotle You Can Score Free Chips and Guac This Weekend, But Only If You Order This Way

Newport Beach, California — Chipotle fans have a limited-time reason to celebrate this weekend. To mark National Avocado Day, the popular fast-casual restaurant chain is offering free chips and guacamole with eligible orders for two days, giving customers a chance to enjoy one of its signature menu combinations at no extra cost.

The promotion is available for a short time, so customers hoping to take advantage of the offer will need to order through the company’s mobile app and follow a few simple steps.

How to Get Free Chips and Guacamole

Chipotle’s special promotion runs from Friday, July 31 through Saturday, Aug. 1.

To qualify, customers must:

  • Purchase a full-priced entrée through the Chipotle app.
  • Add a side of chips and guacamole to their order.
  • Enter the promo code AVO2026 during checkout.

Once the code is applied, the side of chips and guacamole will be free on eligible orders.

Chipotle noted that kids’ meals do not qualify as eligible entrées for the promotion.

Chipotle Celebrates National Avocado Day

The company says this is the first time it has extended its National Avocado Day promotion across two full days instead of just one.

Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing, said the company wanted to give customers more time to celebrate one of its most popular menu items.

According to Chipotle, its guacamole is hand-mashed fresh every day using 48 ripe Hass avocados along with red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, citrus juice, and salt. The company also notes that its recipe contains no preservatives or artificial flavors.

Guacamole has long been one of Chipotle’s signature offerings and remains among the chain’s most requested add-ons.

Restaurant Chain Continues Global Expansion

The giveaway comes during a period of continued growth for Chipotle.

Earlier this month, the company opened its first restaurant in Mexico, marking a significant milestone in its international expansion strategy.

The new location opened in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, within the Monterrey metropolitan area, through a partnership with restaurant operator Alsea.

Chipotle CEO Scott Boatwright said the company entered the Mexican market with respect for the country’s culinary traditions while aiming to offer customers its customizable dining experience.

Looking ahead, the restaurant chain expects to open between 350 and 370 new locations in 2026, adding to its existing restaurants across Canada, Europe, and the Middle East, with future expansion also planned in South Korea and Singapore.

Portion Size Debate Continues

Despite the free guacamole promotion, Chipotle has continued facing criticism from some customers over portion sizes.

Earlier this year, CEO Scott Boatwright suggested that diners who believe their meals are too small should simply ask employees for extra ingredients.

His comments quickly sparked debate on social media, where many customers argued that bowls and burritos have become noticeably smaller, particularly with mobile orders.

While opinions remain divided over serving sizes, Chipotle’s latest promotion is likely to attract customers looking to enjoy one of its most popular menu combinations at no additional cost.
