Orlando, Florida — Newly released police body camera footage is drawing widespread attention after capturing a tense confrontation between a University of Central Florida (UCF) student and campus police that escalated into an arrest.
The incident occurred on February 5, 2025, but the footage was recently made public, showing officers responding to an unrelated call before becoming involved in a confrontation with 27-year-old Jarrett Vick.
According to authorities, the encounter eventually resulted in Vick being arrested on multiple charges after the situation escalated.
Confrontation Began During Unrelated Police Response
The bodycam video shows Vick approaching an officer who had arrived at a university building for an unrelated incident. During the exchange, Vick questioned why police officers were present on campus and repeatedly shouted at the responding officer.
As the confrontation continued, the officer instructed Vick to lower his voice and warned that failure to comply could lead to being placed in handcuffs.
When the argument intensified, the officer radioed for backup. According to the footage, the officer remarked:
“He is having a breakdown.”
Vick immediately objected and repeatedly insisted that officers use feminine pronouns, shouting:

“I was being f—ing harassed by the cops.”
Vick also said the incident had resulted in unwanted attention from the media. Court records identify Vick as being from Treasure Island, Florida.

According to court records, Vick was charged with:

- Resisting arrest
- Disorderly conduct
