Lehi, Utah — Mormon YouTuber Chandler David Hendry, known affectionately as “Chuck,” has died at the age of 27 after a devastating car crash in Utah, just hours after sharing a social media video reflecting on the afterlife and the belief that families can remain connected beyond death.
His sudden death has left his family, friends and thousands of followers mourning a young faith-based creator who had devoted much of his online presence to discussing Christianity and his beliefs.
Hendry Killed in Utah Crash at 27
According to reports, Hendry was driving westbound in Lehi on Friday when he allegedly ran a red light and collided with two vehicles.
One of the vehicles was traveling northbound, while the other was traveling southbound.
Authorities said Hendry was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead.
No other serious injuries were reported.
His death came only weeks before his second wedding anniversary, adding another layer of heartbreak for his family and wife, Analynn.
Final Video Focused on the Afterlife
One of the most striking details surrounding Hendry’s death is that his final Instagram video focused on life after death and eternal family connections.
Hendry had attended the FAIR conference in Lehi, a three-day gathering centered on questions and discussions involving The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In the video, Hendry reflected on an illustration presented by Anthony Sweat depicting the afterlife. The image showed a central line with multiple lines branching outward.
Hendry described it as a representation of what “the eternities will look like”, connecting the illustration to the LDS teaching that families can remain together after death.
The timing of the video has made it particularly emotional for those who knew him.
Creator Built Following Through Faith Content
Hendry had built a substantial online audience, with more than 70,000 followers, and was the founder of the Restored Truth podcast.
The name reflected his belief that God had restored the gospel after its teachings had become corrupted.
He frequently ended his videos with a message encouraging followers to maintain their faith and focus their lives toward God.
His content often encouraged fellow members of the church to be open about their beliefs rather than shy away from discussing their faith publicly.
Family Turns Planned Event Into Memorial
Before his death, Hendry had organized an event for young members of the church preparing for missionary service.
The event still took place Saturday, but following his death it became an emotional memorial gathering where family members shared memories about his life.
His father, Chad Hendry, recalled that his son was not always comfortable with public speaking. When a bishop asked Hendry to speak during his senior year of high school, his initial response was reportedly “no.”
His perspective changed after his first missionary experience in Jackson, Mississippi, where he embraced the responsibility of speaking about Christ and teaching the gospel.
Friends and Family Remember His Faith
Tributes have poured in from people who knew Hendry and followed his work.
Fellow creator Sarah Clark praised Hendry for standing firmly behind his religious beliefs at a time when she felt many people were hesitant to openly discuss their faith.
Others said Hendry inspired them to take their own beliefs more seriously.
Doltan Williams, founder of the Unashamed Truth platform, described Hendry as someone who led by example and encouraged others to live their faith more boldly.
His sister, Chaleigh Rowley, shared an emotional tribute thanking her brother for supporting her throughout different stages of their lives and being present for important milestones.

Hendry’s wife, Analynn, also paid tribute to her husband following his sudden death.
