Miami-Dade County, Florida — Authorities are asking for the public’s help as the search continues for a 28-year-old South Florida dancer who has performed alongside some of the biggest names in Latin music and was reported missing over the weekend.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Michael-Anthony Leones Espino, who is known to friends and colleagues as Mykee, was last seen Sunday afternoon leaving a home near Southwest 161st Court and Southwest 142nd Terrace in west Miami-Dade County.
Investigators have since released missing person flyers as they work to locate Espino, noting that he may be in need of services.
Professional Dancer Worked With Major Latin Music Stars
Espino has built a career in the entertainment industry as a professional dancer, appearing in performances with internationally recognized Latin music artists, including Rauw Alejandro and Rosalía.
Videos shared on his social media accounts show him performing on stage and pursuing the passion that friends say defined his life.
Those who know him describe him as someone who dedicated himself to dance and remained focused on achieving his goals.
Friends Hope for His Safe Return
As the search continues, friends are speaking publicly in hopes that someone with information will help bring Espino home safely.
Camilo Restrepo, who met Espino while they were students at Florida International University (FIU), described him as someone whose passion for dance stood above everything else.
“I met him during college at FIU,” said friend Camilo Restrepo. “Incredible guy, he was always so far into dancing, so while everybody else was busy and wanted to party and wanted to do other things, he was just so into the dancing. That’s all he ever wanted to do.”
Friends say they remain hopeful that Espino will be found safe and reunited with his loved ones.
Deputies Continue Investigation
Earlier Monday, television cameras captured deputies blocking off the street outside Espino’s family home with crime scene tape as investigators continued their work.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, and detectives say the family has requested privacy while the investigation remains active.
Officials have also not indicated whether foul play is suspected.
