Bed Bath & Beyond Is Back in Stores — 22 New Locations Opening Across the U.S.

Fort Worth, Texas — Bed Bath & Beyond’s return to physical retail is gaining momentum as the company launches a new wave of co-branded stores with The Container Store, marking a significant step in the retailer’s comeback after bankruptcy.

The new concept combines products and services from both brands under one roof, creating a shopping experience focused on home organization, décor, storage, and improvement solutions. Company leaders say the initiative is designed to simplify home shopping by bringing multiple categories together in a single destination.

The first location opened in Fort Worth, Texas, in May, and now dozens more stores are joining the nationwide rollout.

22 New Co-Branded Stores Open Across the Country

According to company officials, the first phase of expansion includes 22 newly converted Bed Bath & Beyond + The Container Store locations that are already welcoming customers.

The initial wave includes stores in major metropolitan areas such as:

  • Miami, Florida
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • New York City, New York
  • Charlotte, North Carolina

  • Salt Lake City, Utah
  • Bellevue, Washington

The stores are intended to provide customers with a more seamless shopping experience by combining home-related products, services, and solutions in one location.

Retailer Aims to Reinvent Home Shopping

Executive Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis said the new model reflects changing consumer expectations. According to Lemonis, shoppers no longer want to visit multiple retailers to complete a single home project.

“Our customers don’t think about their homes in categories,” Lemonis said.

He explained that consumers often need products and services spanning multiple departments, from storage and organization to bedding and installation services.

The co-branded concept is designed to address those needs through a more integrated approach.

Company leaders also say individual locations will be tailored to the communities they serve, with merchandise and layouts reflecting local preferences and lifestyles.

More Locations Expected in Coming Months

The current openings represent only the first stage of a much larger rollout. Earlier this year, The Container Store announced plans to remodel and convert 98 locations to support the new retail concept.

Many additional stores across the country are expected to transition over the coming months, including locations in:

  • Florida
  • Texas
  • Pennsylvania
  • Virginia
  • Arizona
  • Maryland
  • Nevada
  • New Jersey
  • Ohio
  • Washington

While the company has not provided exact reopening dates for every location, executives have confirmed that conversions will continue throughout the year.

The strategy could significantly expand Bed Bath & Beyond’s physical presence after several years of uncertainty.

How Bed Bath & Beyond Made Its Comeback

Bed Bath & Beyond’s return follows a dramatic period for the retailer. After filing for bankruptcy in 2023, the brand was acquired by Overstock.com, which relaunched Bed Bath & Beyond as an online platform.

Since then, parent company Beyond has pursued an aggressive growth strategy that includes acquisitions, partnerships, and investments across several home-related sectors.

It also acquired a stake in home décor retailer Kirkland’s, which later rebranded as The Brand House Collective.

The partnership between Bed Bath & Beyond and The Container Store represents one of the most notable retail comeback stories in recent years.

Both companies faced significant financial challenges and bankruptcy proceedings, but leaders believe the combined-store concept offers a fresh path forward in an increasingly competitive retail environment.
