Bradenton, Florida — A weekend crash in Bradenton has led to the arrest of a 34-year-old woman after police say she struck a pedestrian and then drove away from the scene, leaving the man with life-threatening injuries.
The collision happened Saturday night along 14th Street West, and investigators spent the following hours working to identify the vehicle and driver involved.
Pedestrian Hit While Walking Bicycle Across Road
According to Bradenton police, the crash occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. Saturday.
Investigators said Lindsey Gore was driving a Toyota 4Runner when the SUV struck a man who was walking his bicycle across the roadway.
The impact left the pedestrian seriously injured.
Emergency responders transported the man to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he remains with life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not publicly released the victim’s identity or provided additional details about his current medical condition.
Police Say Driver Left the Scene
Investigators said Gore did not remain at the crash site after the collision. Instead, police allege that she drove away from the scene in the SUV, leaving the injured man behind.
