Coconut Creek, Florida — A devastating early morning house fire in Coconut Creek left one man hospitalized, seven cats dead, and a family displaced after flames tore through a home on Monday.
According to Coconut Creek Fire Rescue, crews responded just before 4:15 a.m. to a reported fire in the 900 block of Palmetto Drive. By the time firefighters arrived, the blaze had already spread through the garage and into the roof, causing significant damage to the property.
Emergency crews worked quickly to bring the fire under control while searching the home for anyone who may have been trapped inside.

Fire officials said the blaze began in the garage before rapidly extending into the roof of the home.
