Freshman Fridays inform students of extracurricular opportunities

Freshmen were introduced to nearly 30 clubs and activities during a special “Freshman Friday” Advisory last week.

Advisers created slides to promote their clubs for this special Advisory, which administrators instituted in order to encourage students to join at least two or more school activities that are offered.

According to the school website, 85% of students are engaged in one or more extracurricular activities, and participation in extracurricular activities leads to greater academic success.

Freshman Lillian Burrell said the slide show helped her learn what clubs exist here, and after watching it, she said, “I’m joining debate.”

Freshman Ashlynn Cofta said she was planning to join Spanish Club, and freshman Hadleigh Maher said she was joining French Club.
