Richardson, Texas — North Texas is getting another destination for food trucks, live music and casual outdoor entertainment as Truck Yard prepares to open a new location in Richardson next month. The upcoming venue will become the brand’s fourth location in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and appears to have an unexpected connection to a piece of Dallas history.
Truck Yard recently gave followers a sneak peek at the Richardson project, generating excitement ahead of its planned Sept. 1, 2026, opening.
New Truck Yard Location Coming to Richardson
According to Truck Yard’s website, the new Richardson location will be situated off U.S. 75 near Spring Valley Road, putting the venue in a busy part of the North Dallas suburb.
The concept is known for combining food trucks, drinks, outdoor gathering spaces and live music, creating a casual environment where visitors can spend an afternoon or evening with friends.
The Richardson opening will expand Truck Yard’s presence across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The brand already operates locations in Dallas, Fort Worth and The Colony, making Richardson its fourth DFW location.
For Richardson residents, the arrival adds another entertainment and dining option to an area that continues to attract new businesses and development.
Venue Design Has a Surprising Dallas Connection
One of the most interesting details about the new location is its apparent connection to the former COMO Motel, a longtime Dallas landmark.
Images shared by Truck Yard appear to show salvaged signage incorporated into the design of the new venue.
The COMO Motel was demolished in 2025 after being purchased by Pappas Restaurant.
The motel’s distinctive sign became a subject of curiosity shortly before the demolition when it reportedly disappeared from the property.
Its whereabouts were unknown for some time.
Now, the apparent appearance of pieces from that historic sign at the upcoming Richardson Truck Yard has offered a possible new chapter for an object that once stood along Dallas roads for decades.
Truck Yard Gives Sneak Peek Ahead of Opening
Truck Yard shared a preview of the Richardson location on social media Monday, giving future customers an early look at the venue.
While the project is still taking shape, the design appears to follow the brand’s familiar style of creating a relaxed outdoor atmosphere with distinctive decor and repurposed elements.
The use of materials connected to the old COMO Motel could give the Richardson location a particularly unique identity while preserving a small piece of local history.
For longtime Dallas residents familiar with the motel, seeing portions of its signage incorporated into a new entertainment venue could make the location especially notable.
Fourth DFW Location Set for September Opening
Truck Yard is scheduled to officially open the Richardson location on Sept. 1, 2026.
The new venue is expected to bring the brand’s established combination of live entertainment, food trucks and social spaces to the Richardson community.
