Idaho Falls, Idaho — An Idaho family’s home security cameras captured an unforgettable moment after a determined 3-year-old boy quietly slipped out of the house and walked nearly half a mile to his grandmother’s home—all because his mother had told him it was too early to visit.
The remarkable journey, which included crossing a road with a 50 mph speed limit, ended safely, but the incident has sparked conversations online about child safety after the family’s TikTok video attracted nearly 3 million views.
Toddler Refused to Take “No” for an Answer
According to his mother, Hannah Driscoll, the adventure began just before 8 a.m. on a Sunday morning when her son, Declan Driscoll, asked if they could visit his grandmother.
Hannah told him it was still too early and believed he had accepted her answer.
Thinking Declan was downstairs playing with his siblings while she finished getting ready for the day, she had no idea her determined toddler had already begun making other plans.
