The girls’ Varsity basketball team is in fourth place in the North Shore Conference, with a record of 8-3.
Seniors Mimi Hart and Sarah Helm have played a vital role in the team’s success this season, each delivering impressive performances that have helped lead the team to new heights.
Hart, with 171 points so far, is averaging 15.5 points and 3.2 assists per game. Hart reached a career milestone by joining the 1,000-point club during the team’s 63-58 victory over Kenosha St. Joseph.
Helm has equally been a standout, matching Hart with 171 points and leading the team with an average of 21.4 points per game.
Recently, Helm broke the program’s single game scoring record, putting up an outstanding 41 points against West Bend West.
For Hart, the highlights of the season extend beyond the victories and stats.
“My favorite part of the season is probably getting close with my teammates and all of the memories we have made,” she said. “ Our pregame locker room and team dinners are always so fun and have been the highlights of my season.”
Senior Courtney Van Ermen said she believes the team has exceeded expectations this season, especially considering the team’s younger roster. She said, “The team is very close, making our performance better.”
According to Van Erman, the team calls coach Pat Moore by the nickname “Coach Pmore.”
Van Ermen also commented on the contributions of her younger teammates, noting sophomore Abby Tarabois’ continuous improvement and Molly Masse’s exciting energy that she brings to the team.
