The first 25 German Club members to sign up will attend the Old World Christmas Market trip in Elkhart Lake Dec. 14. 

Reminiscent of markets in old Germany, this market was voted the fifth best market in the United States in 2023, according to the Osthoff Resort website. 

Other than attending the Christmas market, the German Club has other activities planned, including building challenges using gummy bears, cooking German dishes and a gingerbread house contest. 

World Language teacher and club adviser Derek Schafer said, “Everyone likes the gingerbread house competition! The students all vote for the best gingerbread house, and the one that wins gets a bag full of german goodies.” 

Schaefer said trips and activities in German Club are “fun ways to experience German culture outside of class.”

The next German club meeting will be Tuesday during Resource.
