Freshman Frances Milton spends her time playing the piano, journaling and participating in the sport of fencing.
Milton first began fencing two years ago when a friend asked if she would accompany her to practice. Since then she has been attending the Caliburn Fencing Club in Milwaukee.
In addition to fencing, Milton is a member of Mock Trial, German Club and Common Sense. Her course load includes advanced level classes, including AP Human Geography and Honors Geometry.
Milton is the only freshman in College Journalism this semester, but according to English teacher Heather Vande Sande, Milton “fits in well with the other students, who are primarily seniors.”
Senior Hailey Roob said, “She’s really fun to have in class, and I admire her dedication to her tough classes.”
Milton plans on attending UW-Madison after graduating from high school.
Milton said, “My whole family went to or is at Madison, and it just feels like home to me.” However, she said she is also interested in California universities.
Senior David Mai said that “Frances is hard working, funny and fun to be around.”
