After spending a year teaching special education at Webster Middle School, special education teacher Laura Morgan is now teaching here.
Morgan grew up in Menomonee Falls and attended UW-Whitewater. Initially, she planned to major in speech therapy, but said she “wanted to delve further into the classroom.” This desire led her to switch her major to education.
Following her graduation from UW-Whitewater, Morgan returned to her roots and began teaching at an elementary school in Menomonee Falls. After 18 years in that role, she noticed she “wanted to work with kids in all subjects,” prompting her decision to earn a special education license from UW-Milwaukee.
One of her favorite activities is spending time with her family. Morgan has a daughter who plays hockey, and she enjoys going to sporting events with her. She also loves exploring downtown Cedarburg with her family and attending festivals such as the county fair. Additionally, they enjoy camping.
In the future, Morgan said she desires to continue fostering “fun, positivity, and a love for learning.” She has felt welcomed and said, “I was here for a week, and I felt like I was here forever.”
