The CHS Girls Dance Team recently qualified for state for the first time in 10 years. With their decorated vans and packed bags, they set off for the Wisconsin Association of Cheer/Pom Coaches Inc. competition in La Crosse.
The team participated in Division 3 Poms. When they arrived, Meyer reminded the girls to “be proud and put their best effort out there” as they went out to dance.
Junior Sydney Meyer, captain of the team, said “finally, all their hard work had paid off.” Dance team is the only high school sport that trains year-round. Although they didn’t place, Meyer recalls the girls’ joy from simply performing to the best of their ability and knowing they always had next year.
