Rehearsals will begin in December for “HONK! A Musical Tale of ‘The Ugly Duckling.’” Based on the fairy tale written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, the musical will be performed in the CPAC Feb. 15-18.
“At first, I was definitely confused by the story and didn’t know how I felt about it,” junior Izzy Heilgendorf said. “Once I read it and saw what we have planned, it seems like it’s going to be fun.”
Director Kristen Mickie said, “Don’t let the fact that you don’t know the musical deter you from seeing it. It’s a beautiful story with beautiful music.”
The cast includes seniors Izzy Fyfe, Sarah Gleed, Emily Hoepfner, Ruby Holtgrieve, Brady Holzer, Caroline Kelley, Allison Springer; juniors Bee Bean, Keaton Blake, Liam Boyle, Sharon Chumlea, Izzy Heilgendorf, Celeste Kronstadt, Anna Meuler, Natalie Reitz, Lucia Sammarco, Emily Stevens, Robbie Thao, Ella Viera, Haylie Wetsten, Josie Witte; sophomores Caroline Kelley, Jillian Wilde; freshmen Alanna D’Urso, Elise Dieringer, Lucien Gusdorf, Marissa Jacoby, Harmonee Johnson, Sophia Lieven, Maria Nelson, Maya Schatzman, Sydney Vento and Autumn Wiley.
